pursuing the highest standards in teaching and learning

The Curriculum

At King Harold we believe our students will be able to pursue the highest level of learning in an environment where teachers strive to achieve the highest level of teaching.

Key Stage 3

At Key Stage 3 students have 25 hours of learning time which follows the National Curriculum as well as a daily session with their Tutor.  Students are guided closely by teachers to set appropriate targets to improve progress.   This is overseen by the Year Co-ordinators and involves students, parents and teachers working as a team in order to provide guidance and academic support where necessary.

In addition to the National Curriculum in Key Stage 3 students have the opportunity to extend their breadth of knowledge by following personalised learning pathways.  This allows for early access to the Key Stage 4 GCSE, Asset and Vocational courses.

Key Stage 4

At Key Stage 4 we are proud of the range of courses that our students can study in addition to the core curriculum.  Our students are encouraged to further track their progress in order to attain the highest level of academic success.  This is achieved through classroom learning, independent study and further individual support and guidance to ensure student progress.
